Steve Ledson, a fifth generation Sonoma County entrepreneur, viticulturist, winemaker, philanthropist and founder of Ledson Properties, has been working in the construction industry for 50 years. He started a dry wall construction company in 1973 and grew to become a very successful developer in Sonoma County known for his meticulously design and highest quality building practices.

In the late 80’s, Steve designed and built an exquisite architectural showpiece, a 16,000 square foot Gothic, French-Normandy masterpiece, replete with slate tile, turrets, balconies and fountains. It is known throughout the world as the ‘Castle’ and houses his winery, Ledson Winery & Vineyard, nestled among acres of rolling vineyards in Kenwood. Vine Pair called it, “One of the twelve most impressive wineries in the world” and the Boston Globe said, “This castle is a must see.”

In 2003 another dream of Steve became reality with the grand opening of the Ledson Hotel & Zina Lounge. Standing like a crown jewel of the Historic Sonoma Plaza, the luxurious six-room boutique hotel, bar, and social lounge was painstakingly designed by Steve to evoke Sonoma’s rich history while providing all the luxury of the world’s best hotels. Antique grandeur combined with modern amenities make this unique hotel one of the most distinguished addresses in California. Condé Nast Traveler named it, “One of the 100 hottest new hotels around the globe.”
